Jewellery of Aswan

This initiative trained and qualified 180 artisans in Jewellery-making and beadwork crafts. The project focused on:

- Building the capacity of local trainers and community-based organizations.
- Creating employment opportunities or revenue generation for artisans and their families.
- Preserving Aswan’s heritage, particularly in beading craftsmanship, a centuries-old tradition deeply rooted in the region’s culture.

Project Donors

Sawiris Foundation for Social Development (SFSD)

Established in 2001 with an endowment from the Sawiris Family, SFSD is one of Egypt’s first national donor foundations. It addresses key issues such as poverty, unemployment, healthcare, and access to quality education. Over the past 18 years, SFSD has:

Al-Jisr Foundation

Al-Jisr Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering communities through education, skill development, and economic opportunities. It focuses on enhancing entrepreneurship, vocational training, and employment for marginalized groups, with a particular emphasis on women and youth. The foundation collaborates with government entities and private sector partners to implement sustainable development initiatives.
